Irish coffee is a cocktail comprised of coffee, Irish whiskey and sugar in traditional forms. The mixture is stirred and topped with a thick cream through which the coffee is drunk. The original drink was created and named by Irishman Joe Sheridan and it was brought to America by travel writer Stanton Delaplane.
